Moinuddin Malim is a distinguished financial industry leader with over 30 years of senior executive experience in Islamic banking, investment banking and management, capital markets, and structured finance. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Alternative International Management Services (AIMS), a boutique Islamic financial advisory firm with a global network, dedicated to pioneering innovative financial solutions and fostering sustainable growth in Islamic finance.

Throughout his career, Mr. Malim has held pivotal executive and non-executive roles across major financial institutions, demonstrating a track record of strategic leadership and transformative contributions. As CEO of Mashreq Al Islami, he established an award-winning Islamic banking platform, leading the development of a fully integrated Islamic finance operation. Prior to this, at Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), he spearheaded the creation of the Capital Markets and Asset Management Divisions, leading groundbreaking transactions, including structuring and arranging Dubai’s first-ever $1 billion inaugral Sukuk issuance for the Department of Civil Aviation, Govt. of Dubai.

A recognized authority in Islamic banking and finance, Mr. Malim has been instrumental in developing Sharia-compliant financial products and investment funds with assets under management exceeding $2 billion. His leadership in structuring innovative Sukuk and investment vehicles has positioned DIB and other institutions at the forefront of global Islamic capital markets.

As a seasoned board member and strategic advisor, he has served on the boards and investment committees of major institutions, including National Bonds Corporation (NBC), Africa and Gulf Bank, Lotus Bank, and Khalij Group, where he has played a key role in corporate governance, risk management, and investment strategy. His expertise spans corporate banking, asset management, Islamic trade finance, and financial technology integration, enabling him to bridge the gap between traditional banking models and cutting-edge fintech solutions.

Mr. Malim has also been an advocate for the evolution and standardization of Islamic banking, serving as the first elected Chairman of the Islamic Banking Committee under the UAE Banks Federation, where he led industry-wide efforts to enhance Sharia governance and regulatory frameworks. He is an active thought leader, speaker, and author, contributing to international finance publications and shaping industry discourse at global forums.
